What to do if you bought this product
What is the hazard with Multicoloured Magnetic Tiles (2604-0055)?
Multicoloured Magnetic Tiles (2604-0055) was announced earlier this year, in the "Toys - Puzzles (Non Powered)" category. The product presents a serious risk of asphyxiation because the drawstring bag containing the magnetic tiles does not comply with BS EN 71-1 requirements. The opening of the bag exceeds the permitted size and incorporates a drawstring closure, meaning it could be placed over a child’s head and tightened. As the material is not sufficiently permeable, this would restrict airflow and may lead to asphyxiation. The product does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011. That is the hazard as reported publicly by the firm and the regulator; it does not necessarily mean every unit has failed.
