What is the hazard with Product Recall: Universal Travel Adaptor 931E (2601-0268)?
Product Recall: Universal Travel Adaptor 931E (2601-0268) was announced earlier this year, in the "Electrical appliances and equipment - Adaptors (Electrical)" category. The product presents a risk of electric shock because the shutters do not prevent access to live internal parts. A consumer could touch these parts and receive an electric shock. In addition, the plug face does not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1363 and does not make a secure connection with the socket. Improvements are also required to product labelling and marking. The product does not meet the requirements of the Plugs & Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994. That is the hazard as reported publicly by the firm and the regulator; it does not necessarily mean every unit has failed.
