What is the hazard with Product Recall: Squeezy Dumplings (2606-0196)?
Product Recall: Squeezy Dumplings (2606-0196) was announced earlier this year, in the "Toys - Dolls/Soft Toys (Non Powered)" category. The product presents a serious chemical risk because the outer layer contains an excess concentration of benzene (20mg/kg). If inhaled, benzene can cause irritation to the eyes, nose and throat. Exposure to large amounts may also cause a burning feeling throughout the digestive tract and skin irritation. Improvements are also required to product labelling and marking. Further information regarding benzene can be found on Gov.uk at the following link: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/benzene-general-information-incident-management-and-toxicology/benzene-general-information The product does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011. That is the hazard as reported publicly by the firm and the regulator; it does not necessarily mean every unit has failed.
