How to read this batch of Health Canada recalls

What does this cover, and what does it leave out?

This batch covers 328 consumer product recalls announced since mid-2025 — the period we verified for this first pass. Health Canada's open data also includes medical devices, drugs and food recalls; those are a different YMYL category and are intentionally excluded from this module.

The category with the most recalls right now is "Household items" (79 recalls).

Why can you not resell a recalled product in Canada?

The Canada Consumer Product Safety Act specifically prohibits redistributing, selling or even giving away a recalled consumer product. That rule is stricter than in some other countries, and it is why the remedy on each page usually asks you to destroy or return the item rather than pass it on.
