What is the hazard with SumDirect LED Mini Lights?

SumDirect LED Mini Lights was announced earlier this year, in the "Other" category. The recalled LED lights violate the mandatory standard for consumer products containing button cell or coin batteries because they contain button cell batteries that can be accessed easily by children, posing an ingestion hazard. Additionally, the LED lights do not have the warnings as required by Reese's Law. When button cell and coin batteries are swallowed, the ingested batteries can cause serious injuries, internal chemical burns and death. This falls under one of the more serious hazard categories (injury, choking or strangulation risk), so the recall covers every unit sold, not only units with a reported incident.

What should you do if you own this product?

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled LED lights, place them in an area that children cannot access and properly dispose of the batteries. Contact SumDirect for a full refund. Consumers will be asked to send a photo of the product in the trash to recall@dgfuxin.cn. Note: Button cell and coin batteries are hazardous. Batteries should be disposed of or recycled by following local hazardous waste procedures. Sold at: Online at Amazon.com from January 2016 through November 2025 for about $23.. If you bought it somewhere else, the remedy above still applies — contact the firm directly using the official recall page linked below.

How many units are affected?

About About 1,600 units of SumDirect LED Mini Lights are covered by this recall, according to the official count reported by the firm to the regulator.
