What to do if you own this product
What is the hazard with Maitys Drinkware Charms?
Maitys Drinkware Charms was announced earlier this year, in the "Other" category. The recalled magnetic drinkware charms violate the mandatory standard for magnets because they contain loose magnets posing an ingestion hazard to children. When high-powered magnets are swallowed, the ingested magnets can attract each other, or other metal objects, and become lodged in the digestive system. This can result in perforations, twisting, and/or blockage of the intestines, blood poisoning and death. This falls under one of the more serious hazard categories (injury, choking or strangulation risk), so the recall covers every unit sold, not only units with a reported incident.
What should you do if you own this product?
Consumers should stop using the recalled drinkware charms immediately, take them away from children and contact Maitys for a full refund. Consumers will be asked to dispose of the charms and send a photo of the disposed product to maituus@outlook.com. Sold at: Online at Amazon.com from October 2022 through January 2026 for about $8.. If you bought it somewhere else, the remedy above still applies — contact the firm directly using the official recall page linked below.
How many units are affected?
About About 16,400 units of Maitys Drinkware Charms are covered by this recall, according to the official count reported by the firm to the regulator.
